Welcome all Fellow Motorcyclists
“Clad Mile Failte” – One hundred thousand welcomes to our island. The owners, management and staff at the Clansman Motel and Dining Room extend a very warm and sincere welcome to you, our motorcycling guests.
The Clansman Motel Limited was incorporated back in December of 1964, by brothers, Emerson Allen, Corsen Allen, and their sister, Eleanor (Charles Hadley). Although these original siblings were not active motor cycle enthusiasts, all of there combined twelve children, and several of there grandchildren have become, and continue to be, very active in the driving and promoting a motorcycle lifestyle. Several members of our family have been actively involved in the Canadian Safety Council Motorcycle Training Program, as Instructors, Senior Instructors and Chief Instructors. We have toured Canada, the United States and Europe on touring bikes; attended numerous rally’s in the Atlantic provinces and Eastern USA; have been very competitive in track and off-road racing; completed in the provincial enduro circuit; and have spent countless hours simply cruising our beautiful Cape Breton Island on everything from 125cc to an 1800cc. Our biking family, as well, have participated in local charitable runs of all kinds, and served on the executive of local touring clubs.
As you can see, you are the guests of a family who share your love and passion for motorcycling, and we wish to make your stay with us as pleasurable as possible.
Special Services
Several services specifically designed for the motorcyclist are offered by the Clansman, to make your stay more enjoyable.
MOTORCYCLE SHELTER AND WASH STATION: Located adjacent to the Chalet #308. Tie-down rings are provided if you wish to secure your bike overnight. As well, a cleaning kit is available at our front desk for use. A hose and spray nozzle are also provided at the wash station.
TRAILER STORAGE: If you are traveling to newfoundland or possibly around the Cabot Trail, you may wish to secure your trailer with us for a few days. Check with the front desk for more information.
EMERGENCY BIKE STORAGE: If, for any reason, you may have to return home and must leave your bike behind, we can arrange to store your bike in a secure building. Again, please contact our friendly front desk personnel.
